306 exhaust

Hi Guys,
Does the standard exhaust on a 1995 306 TD have a catylst, as my son's peugeot that he recently bought has a modified exhaust straight from the exhaust manifold to the rear box. He wants this to be changed back to standard but he's unsure if he needs a cat centre of not.

I have a 1996 1.9 TD spinnaker and there is no cat on it - would guess his is the same.
