go on what is Eolys fluid, some kind of flux made by the folks from HG Wells time machine????

Just done a web search, nothing springs to view being of automotive use. Go on give us a clue.

Its not the stuff thats injected into the C5 to help with emissions is it?

depends on the RP no of the car as there is different types of Eolys fluid (assuming its for a C5).if its before RP 9491 you need Eolys DPX 42 if after that RP you need Eolys 176.
the part no for Eolys DPX 42 is 997995 for a 5 litre re-fill kit or 973665 for a 1 litre top up.
for Eolys 176 the part no is 973686 for a 3 litre re-fill (doesent take as much to re-fill) or 973685 for a 1 litre top up.
the two different fluids must NOT be mixed. cant help with the price though.
bxbodger- its not directly for emissions,when mixed with fuel it makes the temp at which carbon particles in the exhaust burn lower.
