Road noise

Unread post by dieseldan »

I've done a lot of miles in the last 5 months and have battered the undercarriage of my trusty zx. I have raplaced a worn driveshaft which has helped but I still have more road noise than usual. I also have a very slight clutch judder when pulling away or reversing. Can you guys confirm that this is probably due to bushes and mounts or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Cheers

Dan when you say raod noise, do you mean noise from the tyres or is it noise from the engine side of things? Where abouts is the noise? is it louder over certain roads surfaces etc. Sorry for all the questions but it could be just worn tyres.

Hi Stuart
The tyres still have a lot of meat on them so I don't think they are the reason. The noise sounds and feels like play somewhere but I don't know where. I've looked at some of the previous discussions on this and am not sure what to do next. I don't want to end up changing every rubber/nylon component on the car!!!
