Xantia air bag light

I've got a 1996 Citroen Xantia as a 2nd car runabout thing.
Just as I'm trying to sell it,the Airbag warning light has started to flash.
This kind of puts people off buying it...
Anyone know if there is anything easy and obvious I can check for, otherwise I'll have to put it into the dealers and get ripped off. (£65 p.h.!)
Can anyone help?

My light came on last year.Took it to a independent garage.Said it was the contact rings on the steering wheel.With the diognostic check & fix was about £80.Not to sure about diy.Most likely to be the steering wheel though.

Check the seat belt pretensioner leads under the seats. The wires have a connection joint under the seat which can be broken when items are pushed under the seats. These wires are part of the airbag light check system.
