Help Needed Please

Post by White »

Peugeot 306 1.4 1994
Ignition not advancing, could this be due to a broken MAP sensor?
if I disconnect the vacuum pipe to the MAP sensor and block the pipe
to the manifold the engine runs like a bag of crap, possibly sounding
like the engine management has advanced the timing, but with vac to the
MAP sensor the engine runs normal but with no power.
Do the MAP sensors become weak as they got older?
I don't want to go and spend £40 on a new MAP sensor just to find out
It's something else,
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Paul...

Hi
ECU is giving no error codes at all, if it was maybe I could sort the problem myself,
the engine runs nice, not erratic, no stalls, no pinking, it's just got no power,
I know what it should run like because I also have a ZX 1.4i and that is quite pokey,
But the 306 just aint got the power of the ZX.
Thanks for the reply Paul...
