Xantia steering rack
I am about to change my Xantia's steering rack, any tips would be greatly appreciated, especially the cheapest place to buy one!

What reasons do you have for thinking that a new rack is required ? My experience is that steering racks are durable and rugged.
If a problem were to emerge in the steering train, control issues are probably with the hydraulic ram that performs power assistance function (worn seals, or stiction due to dirt/lubrication failure) ; maybe the valve (ie dirt causing malfunction, or leakage past a damaged seal).
Loss of precision/wandering much more likely to be worn lower ball joints.
