406 Boot security

Post by CANDO »

I've got a 406 ('99 ''S'') The vehicle has deadlocks but I recall reading that this does not include the boot lock. I also seem to recall there was a feature on this problem on the BBC Watchdog program some time ago. This highlighted the ease with which the boot could be broken into but I think there was also a modification by pug to stop this? And am I correct in thinking it was the 406 model? If it was can anybody remember the age of the cars affected and the Pug remedy?

According to http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/ car-by-car info for a 1999-2004 406 there was indeed a recall due to boot lock defect.
Plenty of other recalls listed too for this model [:0]
