Hi everyone,
The car is a 2019 Peugeot 3008 2.0 BlueHDi EAT8, 177 hp.
I've noticed a vibration inside the car when idling. It's not particularly severe, but I can feel it through the armrest, steering wheel, pedals and driver's seat.
The vibration becomes less noticeable when the A/C is switched on and disappears completely when the engine revs go above 1,200–1,400 rpm.
With the bonnet open, I can see the engine shaking more than I would expect. I own another diesel vehicle and can definitely feel the difference between the two.
I was advised to replace the engine mounts, which I did, but I can't say there has been any noticeable improvement.
I'm not sure if this is a common issue, but I had the timing belt kit replaced at the main dealer a few months ago. I'm not suggesting that the two are related, as I can't say whether the problem started before or after the replacement.
A diagnostic scan hasn't revealed any engine faults.
I've attached some files for further details.
If anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas about what could be causing this, I'd really appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks in advance!

Re: 3008 engine vibration
When you replaced the mounts did you also do the one at the back low down ?

What brand mounts you changed?

Re: 3008 engine vibration
No, I haven't changed the lower engine mount. I was hoping that replacing the easier ones would solve the problem.
I bought the mounts from Autodoc. The hydraulic one is advertised as an original Peugeot/Citroën part, while the other one is from Febi Bilstein.

Re: 3008 engine vibration
It is important that hydraulic one is OEM PSA mount. I personally tried to change with cheap one (reinhoch) vibration level increased. Only oem solves problem. I would recommend you to change third mount also. On the other hand please check alternator pulley. Sometimes that pulley cause for vibration.

Re: 3008 engine vibration
The hydraulic engine mount is Mopar. I have seen this brand advertised as supplying genuine parts on Servicebox (please see the attached image).
I also checked the bottom rear engine mount, and as you can see in the video, it moves quite easily with just a little pressure.

I also noticed that the auxiliary belt tensioner pulley moves quite a lot, and I'm not sure whether this is normal. Please see the videos below:

Re: 3008 engine vibration
I couldn't see any noticeable wobbling of the alternator pulley in the videos. However, the lower engine mount seemed a bit soft to me.
By the way, did you check the injector correction values while the engine was running?

Re: 3008 engine vibration
Hi all,
I have been advised to check the torque settings of crankshaft bolt due to recent timing belt replacement and check v-belt pulleys.
How do I check the pulleys? Do I have to remove the V-belt and check for excessive play on the pulleys/tensioner?
Also, can you gprovide me with reference for the torque settings on the crankshaft bolt, please?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Re: 3008 engine vibration
Yes, removing the v-belt is the best way to inspect the pulleys individually. With the belt installed, tension and resistance from other components can make diagnosis difficult.
With the belt removed, check the following
Alternator pulley : Play, roughness, noise and one-way clutch operation
Belt tensioner: Bearing play, roughness and abnormal movement
Tensioner arm: Excessive oscillation or vibration
Idler pulley Bearing noise, play or binding
Crankshaft pulley: Rubber damper cracks, separation or wobbling
Ceankshaft bolt should be 40nm torque

Re: 3008 engine vibration
My alternator looks like this:
The pulley doesn't look like it can be changed. I can see that the holding bolt is welded to the pulley.
Do you think it would be safe to run the engine without the V-belt for 2–3 minutes, just to confirm whether the vibration is related to it?
Thanks.

Re: 3008 engine vibration
Alternator pulley is not welded. You can change it and yes as I said before sometimes it is the reason for vibration. It is safe to run engine without V-belt for 2-3 mins.

Re: 3008 engine vibration
I believe the crankshaft pulley has failed. If you watch the video, you can see that the rubber damper moves freely. I don't believe it should be like that.

It turns out that the alternator pulley is solid, not a freewheel type. I’m not bothered about replacing it, but I will change the belt and both tensioners while I’m taking everything apart anyway.
I’ll update you with the results.

Re: 3008 engine vibration
Hi all,
Could you please advise me on how to remove the crankshaft pulley? My car has an automatic gearbox, and I’m not sure how to prevent the pulley from rotating when loosening the bolt.
Also, will I need a pulley removal tool once the bolt has been removed, or should the pulley come off easily?
Could someone also confirm whether these are the correct torque settings for tightening the crankshaft pulley bolt?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
