Touch screen update keeps showing "Version not compatible with hardware" error.

This is the Connected NAV system.
Main Features: It is a fully integrated Telematics System featuring CarPlay, Android Auto, Real Time Services, Voice Commands, High-Res Display, 3D Navigation, Bluetooth Hands Free & USB. 2 versions of the system are available NAC (Navigation Audio Connectée) and RCC (Radio Couleur Connectée) or Connected Colour Radio, which does not have the Integrated Navigation or Live Services.

Thank you!

I have tried replacing the SWL folder with the one in the linked download (preserving the license folder created by the Citroen tool) and unfortunately it doesn't work. I still get the hardware incompatible error. I've tried 4 different USBs (including the one that worked fine when I last updated in Feb 2024). I've also tried using the official Citroen tool to download and prepare the USB, but swapping in the TAR file from your link once the download has finished so the Citroen tool uses that one instead) and same issue.

I also can't update the maps to the latest v21 either - it fails immediately when I tick the eur map and then tap install.

I've tried rolling the date back on the car to a date prior to the signing certs expiring and this doesn't work either.

I work in the IT field so have a good understanding of all things firmware.

I had my car serviced last month and when the car was returned to me I had to pair my phone again, set up Android auto again, and adjust the screen brightness as it was too dull - I don't know if this is relevant, whether they had tried to update it? I also had great trouble getting the clock correct when the clocks went back, it refused to correct itself and whenever I turned off GPS sync and set it manually, GPS sync would be back on when I went back into the menu. Any settings I changed in here in terms of +1 hour, time zone etc wouldn't be saved when I went back in. This seemed to sort itself out last week and I wondered if it was because the car "rolled over" to the new timezone on the wrong date? It now has me in UTC -1 Azores, with the +1 hour set which shows the correct time but is wrong as we should be UTC+0 now?! I don't know if any of this is relevant but thought I'd mention.

Do you have any other ideas please?

Thanks :-)

@Leccyblue:
Is your car identified as a NAC_EUR_WAVE4 when you input the VIN on my page?
Have you used a macOS system to prepare the flash drive with the map update?

Hi,

Yes, car is identified as NAC_EUR_WAVE4. Flash drive has been prepared on a Windows 11 26H2 machine.

Thank you

Managed to get the firmware and maps updated today after doing a factory reset on the NAC.

Once I'd done the factory reset, it then detected the timezone etc correctly and remembered any settings I changed. I suspect this is related, although the time "appeared" correct where the car had selected UTC -1 with +1 correction, the time was probably an hour out and therefore unable to validate the SSL certs (which require time to be within 5 mins correct). That's my theory anyway!

Since factory reset everything else has started working properly again too (for example I had lost my speed camera alerts and wifi would never connect).

Thanks for the help directing to the correct file!
