207 PAS code C1414

Unread post by PopPops »

Hi All,

Wifey’s 2010 207 1.6 Vti, VIN VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] has developed its first real fault in 16 years. We were a mile from home, driving straight, and suddenly a power steering fault came up and all assistance disappeared.

Diagbox gives fault C1414 permanent motor fault. Before condemning the motor I thought I would do the obvious electrical things first. Failed at the first hurdle. I can’t find the 80 A power steering fuse MF10 which is apparently in maxi-fuse box 2. MF box 1 is below the engine fuse box, but where on earth is MF box 2?

Any other pointers on this fault would be good. Or is it a guaranteed to be the motor?

Many thanks.

Looks as if a cheaper option is to have the motor repaired rather than a new one https://www.ecutesting.com/common-fault ... ing-fault/

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Thank you. So it is more likely to be the motor rather than an electrical issue around it?

Are circuit diagrams available for the power steering function rather than working “blind”?

Thanks.

I finally tracked down the 80A fuse which is in fuse box BFM4 (not MF box 2 as per the handbook) clipped, or should be, it was dangling loose, to the rear of the battery box if this may help others.

I’ve only been able to give this a bit of time here and there as my wife’s sister died a couple of weeks ago and have been swamped by stuff that has to be done, but I’ve checked electrically down to the motor after finding cct diagrams, but all seems fine. So, next is to remove the motor and get it refurbished.
