Talisman buzzing noise

Unread post by dijonsennep »

Hi, new to the forum.

Im experiencing interior cabin noise in my Talisman Initiale 160 1.6dCi EDC

It occurs between 1600-1700 RPM approximately, especially in gears 2-5, and speeds 30-90 km/h.

it appears to be a vibration caused by the engine, which creates a noise coming from within the left-hand side (drivers side) vent. The noise does not stop if the climate is turned off or vent is closed manually.

Has anyone else experienced this?

My mechanic believes it would require a complete strip down of instrumentation to diagnose, but it would be a challenge to know what to look for and test/diagnose when dashboard is disassembled.

Hope someone can share some insight. All is appreciated. Thank you.

If it were me, I’d remove the air vent grille where the noise is coming from and try to reproduce the noise again. It sounds more like a trim rattle to me, and I don’t think it’s related to the climate control system. It seems like a resonance-related noise that occurs at certain engine RPMs.
