Eh?

Why would anyone send you something to fit a 405 when you clearly have a 2008?

Oh, wait. Sorry. The word ‘thread’ was just on the next line, and it wasn’t immediately clear to me that they were meant to be related to each other! The brain can play tricks sometimes. 🙄

The most annoying thing was the so called new thing ebay rolled out the amazing thing that assured buyers it was the correct fit for your car , come to think of it ive not noticed it since, maybe they have messed up big time and scrapped it ,

And yes the inner thread on this new one was to big it just fell straight over the inner tie rod.

Brain playing tricks , know what you mean by that

Here's one i got wrong when i first started driving
"Fine for parking" as "Hey, great news! Parking is completely fine here!" Till the ticket graced my wind shield....

Peugeot 2008 Brake Overhaul Complete! 🚗💨
Just wrapped up a full brake overhaul on the Peugeot 2008, and it feels like a brand-new car on the road. If you're planning on tackling your own brake refresh, here is a rundown of how the job went, what parts went into it, and the key details to keep in mind.
🛠️ The Work & Prep
Thorough Rust Removal & Cleaning: Before putting anything back together, all the mounting surfaces, caliper brackets, and hubs got a deep clean. Stripping away years of accumulated brake dust and rust ensures everything sits completely flush, prevents uneven pad wear, and keeps components from binding.
New Brake Pads: Fresh pads installed all around for a crisp, confident bite when pressing the pedal.
⚙️ Rear Disc Specifics
When doing the rear brakes on these models, it’s worth noting a couple of key details:
Pre-Installed ABS Rings & Bearings: The new rear brake discs came with the ABS tone rings and wheel bearings already pre-installed, which saves a massive amount of hassle compared to pressing old bearings out and new ones in.
New Hardware: Finished off the rear hub assembly with brand-new hub nuts and fresh dust caps to keep moisture and dirt well away from the bearings.
📐 Torque Specifications Reference
Doing the job right means getting the torque figures spot on for safety and peace of mind:
Center Hub Nut: Torqued up high to specification (typically around 300 Nm for these integrated bearing setups — always double-check your exact manual variant). My variation turned out to be 270
Wheel Bolts / Nuts: Standard tightening set to 100 Nm in a proper star pattern.
Caliper & Guide Pin Bolts: Cleaned up and torqued carefully to manufacturer spec to ensure smooth sliding action without any risk of loosening.
Everything is cleaned, greased where appropriate, torqued down properly, and road-tested. A deeply satisfying weekend job!
