multiple fault codes on my C5 MK1

Unread post by grysltk »

Hi everyone, I'm going to destroy my mk1 C5 asap...... (My car: CITROEN C5 2.0 MK1 2004 - 2.0 HDI RHZ ENGINE - AL4 TRANSMISSION - 386.xxx KM)

i've strange issues with my C5 MK1. I went to autogearbox mechanic for replacing my selenoid valves and transmission oil change. When it change the mechanic say "we saw some smoke in engine area". when i go to see i see battery's positive and negatives cables was fired. probably they re doing selenoid changes without removing battery cables or etc i dont know.
the car working like it's very under heavy conditions. car always gear up with 2500 rpm and when it come next gear, the next gear starts with 2000 rpm. (normally this car gear up like 1800-2000 rpm's and when it go next gear it starts like 1200-1300 rpm)

I went to my main mechanic and they linked with Lexia. The car has some fault codes and they cant be delete. First of all what we changed this car;

- BSM replaced with new one
- ECU brain replaced (EDC15C2)
- AL4 gearbox brain repleaced (it is under the ECU brain)
- Battery's positive and negatives cables replaced
- Car's software re-installing with stock software (2.0 HDI 110hp)
- All cable harness checked and isolated in engine bay, BSM, etc
- BSI checked, BSI hard reset done (i'm not sure the hard reset done with succesfully)
- Crank sensor, camshaft sensor, brake switch sensor, MAP sensor, MAF sensor replaced with new ones.
- BORGWARNER Selenoids replacing new ones again
- Autogearbox oil refill
- AL4 main cables CHANGED. (which attach to selenoids and hydrolic unit)

As you can see we changed a lot of things but nothing happened. Lexia still has those errors and when we are trying Lexia or another diagnostic we got communiciton errors and those faults cannot be deleted;

P0230 - TEMP.FAULT - FUEL LOW PRESSURE PUMP SUPPL. SHORT CIRCUIT TO POSITIVE
P0571 - TEMP.FAULT - BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL. COHERENCE OF THE 2 BRAKE SWITHCES
P0340 - TEMP.FAULT - CANKSHAFT - CAMSHAFT SYNCHRONISING. NO CAMSHAFT SENSOR SIGNAL.
P0340 - TEMP.FAULT - CRANKSHAFT - CAMSHAFT SYNCHRONISING. ENGINE SPEED SENSOR AND CAMSHAFT SENSOR SIGNAL COHERENCE
P0110 - TEMP.FAULT - INLET AIR TEMPERATURE SIGNAL. SHORT CIRCUIT TO + OR OPEN CIRCUIT

Do you have any suggestion? Should i also change BSI unit? Btw when i see Lexia's Injection live datas, i can see "14V battery voltage" and "5V sensor voltages" also i can see those mark: "CRANKSHAFT + CAMSHAFT SYNCHRONISING: YES" and "ECU MATCHED: YES - LOCKED: NO"

I saw same fault codes with old broken ECU and new ECU and car driving like that with old and new ECU's.

In order for the battery leads to be burnt there must have been a high current such as a full short across the +ve and earth somewhere in the car. That heavy current may have damaged the internals of the battery and I am surprised your mechanic did not suggest that. The 14V and 5V you are seeing are coming from the alternator so my approach would be replace the battery and then carry out a BSi reset following the procedure in the link below. Then see how it performs: :)

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
