Coolant leak
Hi all, My ds7 crossback 1.6 puretech 180 has a very slight coolant leak where the small lower coolant return pipe fits onto the expansion tank. The tank had emptied as a stain on it gave the impression fluid was in there! The oring was changed on the fitting, still weeping. Changed the whole pipe/clip fitting, again still the same. Is this a known issue, it isn't a drip as such and may have been doing this since new 5 years ago. I've only had it 6 months. Anyone experienced this? Is there a safe sealant additive I can use on this model? Thanks...

Re: Coolant leak
The overflow tanks can be susceptible to hairline cracing around the hose connections. As a first try remove the hose and wrap the spout copiously with PTFE tape and refit the hose. You may be lucky but if it still leaks you will need a more substantial repair like fibreglass resin or buy a new tank!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
