I have a c5 estate with the rhy/dw10td engine..
My cv joints have gone.. mechanic asked for the whole driveshafts.. easier to replace, and well, why not renew?..
But, I'm having great difficulty finding driveshafts at an acceptable price.. many companies are matching them to my reg but not the part number citroen gave me..
The oem# is leading me to very expensive shafts. Comparitively, a pair for another model as low as £27 for both but i'm hitting £90-150 each.
I'm on the understanding that the dw10td was phased out before the 2004 facelift..
When, I believe, they changed the engine alignment?..
The dw10td rhy was only fitted 2001-2004.. so i wonder would this make them all the same length?..
I don't really understand a great deal which factors are involved..
So, my questions are..
What are the differences between this one and the dw10ted, for example?.. or others..
i've heard tales of swapping abs rings and counting teeth and such..
can i take them apart and refurbish, or rejig the cheap ones somehow?
I have bought one, sitting here waiting for return, can't confirm if it fits or whether i can modify it somehow. But the company that sold it to me apparently do not stock the oem part or equivalent.
(I also have a shock/bulb to diagnose and find, so the cheaper option the better!)
