Spent ages looking at that and wondering what was unusual about it.
While we are short of rain, it does happen and has been an absolute deluge a few times.

I went for a walk down 'CitroJim Way'; the cycle path that Jim ran when he and Mick stayed in Barley Mow.
Had intended walking to Barley Mow and taking the bus home. No bus for an hour so shanks's it was. The bus passed me as I was 100 yards from home.

The item pictured way laid in the road on the way home, picked it up and dropped it on the verge as if anything hit it there could have been a lot of damage.
It is a segment of a brake disc from a commercial vehicle and very heavy and sharp.
One wonders how it came to be in this condition and where the rest of it is. It was below a bridge that carries the A1M.

Gosh! I guess the driver became very quickly aware of it. One one hopes!

This seems to me to be an odd thing. Admittedly it will stop anyone falling through the hole when the doors are open but as these houses are only a few yards from a very busy road the whole concept seems to be flawed. Better round the other side of the house.

The "muzzle" fitted to that upstairs french doors is considerably bigger than it's "mouth" (I mean the opening bit) and looks distinctly odd to me!

I see quite a few where I wonder if they're ever open. As you say busy roads etc, doesn't appeal to let more of that in to your house :)
