DW12BTED4 PCV membrane replacing

Unread post by Saldan »

Hi everyone! For some times I noticed that I got some oil covering the front and lower end of the engine and I got information that it might be due to PCV membrane being perforated ( I took the test to check if that the case , with engine turn on , leave the oil cap loose and it seems that was jumping quite high) and my question is does this membrane have an aftermarket code? I searched with 0248.G5 but it brought the whole cover and I don't want to replace the whole cover of the engine.

Below I will attach a picture with the cover

I can't offer any help with the membrane I'm afraid but I just thought I'd ask if you have checked the injectors? It is fairly common for an injector leak off pipe to fail spilling oil down the engine and worth checking! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The injectors are fine, the engine is working without shocks so no, I don`t think they are at fault.

Just a thought. Are you sure it is (engine) oil? A diesel leak can result in the same grimey look. I know. I spent weeks trying to trace an "oil" leak which had blanketted the whole engine and compartment with dirty black grime. It turned out to be diesel leaking from the diesel filter housing .... the lid had not been properly screwed home by the previous Citroen service.

Hi, my grand picasso 2 2013 is leaking oil, which i suspected was the crank pully seal, but after looking, it is on the right side of the engine, above gearbox height, oil on top of the gearbox and running down, any idea's would be greatly appreciated

Things above the gear box could include the cylinder head gasket, the cam shaft cover gasket, the vacuum pump. I would clean it up and then have another look to see where it comes from.

Thanks for the reply, I'm pretty sure it isn't the head gasket, car is starting and running fine, but obviously it is loosing oil, not rapidly, but enough to be concerned about, and as far as im aware it is an mot failure or a ct for me as I live in france, happy to be incorrect, but im sure it fails.

It would have to be quite a heavy leak to fail the CT, as in, poisoning the enviroment. Depending on the fetish of the tester it may not even be mentioned as a 'non contre visite'. Just clean the affected area of oil/whatever and go for a spin. If it's still hard to determine where it's from, clean again, dry it then blow some talc on it and go for a spin.
Bon courage

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
