Diagnostics software

Hey,

Sorry if this has already been discussed in other threads. I'm fairly new to this, have had my trusty 2014 1.6 HDI Exclusive C3 Picasso for about 3 1/2 years. My father had it before me.

It's at 137K miles and 12 1/2 years old so a lot of the age related issues are starting to appear.

I'm fairly competent with the mechanical side of things but electrics and diagnostics are not as good. Looking at setting up a diagnostics tool. Any recommendations or advice on Lexia Diagbox. Not sure what I need, I gather I need the Lexia hardware, but it's the software I'm getting lost on. Ideally I would like it to be future proof to an extent. Hopefully I can keep my car going for a couple more years, I have seen them reach 300k miles. When he does go I will likely get another Citroen/PSA as the pre wet belt engines seem to be very reliable, with this in mind I'd like the software to be able to be used on other cars. I will likely be looking at <15 plate vehicles.


I currently have 2 electrical issues. One being my car showing "engine fault: repair needed" this came after doing a service. Air, cabin and fuel filet changed - oil filter is being changed a little later as I'm stripping the sump after an engine flush. My car is also now showing economy mode and my driver's window is down and won't close... The fix for this seems to be running the engine but this can't be done until I have finished the sump and oil change.

Any help, knowledge, advice is greatly appreciated.

With regard to your current issues on the car, connecting a boost pack across the battery may let you close the window

I've resolved the issue with the window and the Economy mode as I've fitted the new sump and finished the oil change and run the engine.

The main reason for the post was to ather information for diagnostics as I've got engine fault: repair needed. And an intermittent oil pressure fault which I believe to be a sensor issue.
