I'm planning a trip to French Polynesia—do you have any tips?

Unread post by Ornela »

Hi, I'm trying to plan my trip to French Polynesia for next year, and honestly, I'm overwhelmed by all the information. The thing is, I’m torn between going in March or September, and opinions are really split depending on the sites I’ve read. I’ve been looking at different options to plan your trip to French Polynesia, but I’m still not sure whether it’s better to organize everything myself or get some help.
And then there’s the budget issue. I was thinking of going for three weeks, but between the flights from Lyon (a layover in Paris is practically mandatory) and the hotels on Moorea or Bora Bora, the costs add up fast, it’s crazy. What’s also bugging me is getting around once I’m there. I’m used to planning everything around a car (an old habit since I took over my mom’s Clio, lol), but the options there are really different.
Anyway, if anyone has ever planned a trip to French Polynesia or knows someone who’s done it, I’d love to hear all your feedback!

My partner is from New Zealand and has holidayed in Tahiti and Bora Bora. She recommends using the services of one of the specialist travel agencies who have all the info to hand as trying to make individual plans tends to become difficult with the laid back attitude of the locals. Following a quick DDG search I came up with https://www.tahititourisme.com/vacation-packages/ :)

I am unconvinced that the original post is a genuine question. I think that it is an AI spam product and will no doubt attract a second post with spam links.

You could well be right Paul, by original post are you referring to this thread or the one at viewtopic.php?p=873552#p873552 ? Perhaps the member could illuminate why he has Scotland as his location yet mentions flying from Lyon? :)

Should've said first post in this thread. But the link is also a strange post.
