Boxer 2.2hdi 130hp euro5 no power when cold after injectors replacement

Unread post by Gikala »

Hi!
Long story short: I had my injectors replaced. The first run after that was super good. Smooth and steady. Then they were coded with Texa. Now when cold the car loses power, there is white-grey-ish smoke (more smell that visual) and you can clearly hear the injectors. This happens up to 40-50C and then all runs ok. The injectors are audible but still better than before.

I've tried to find the piloting adaptation procedure in both Texa and KTS, but with no luck.
I also didn't find a way to connect with the car beside those two softwares. My Lexia cable seems not to work (maybe I need that S.1279 module?) but when I asked at a local forum I got mixed info. I know that Alfaobd, Multiecuscan and Forscan do not connect with the car.

One mechanic suggested that the mistake was that we run the engine before putting the injector codes in. He also suggested coding them few times - as supposedly they sometimes 'don't catch it'. But his verdict was - you won't achieve anything with software, the injectors need to be recalibrated again and set to 0.
Another mechanic says - no way, you can put them any codes they should work. Claim warranty replacement for the injectors.
Two other shops said they don't have any 100% Peugeot diagnostic software and never did any pilot injection adaptation (or whatever is the name).
I did that test, don't know the English name, when you connect little bottles to the injectors and measure how much diesel is pumped back and it was almost equal there.

So basically what two questions:
1. want software and interface to use with a Boxer 2.2hdi 2014 130hp euro5 sid208 ecu
2. any ideas or suggestions after reading the story?

Thanks in advance for help!
Cheers,
Karo

That test with the bottles is called a leak off test and shows how the injectors are performing in relation to each other. As you say they are all very similar then that implies any issue you have is more likely related to the control of the injectors rather than the injectors themselves. You need to run a high end scan and see what codes are stored and then go from there. You may find the module you mentioned is needed for your Lexia as it is designed as far as I remember mostly for commercial vehicles. Good Luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

If you have a pronounced diesel knock and the white smoke when cold I would say one of your new injectors is faulty and the pintle is sticking when cold. I had a similar issue with a DS3 and ended up returning recon injectors and replacing with new units and issue was resolved.

I am wondering if actually starting the engine before putting the new codes in might have caused this issue? The mechanic that did the replacement says no, other says sure. All so confusing.
