Parts lookup

Unread post by Expertamateur »

It looks like the old parts number lookup service is no longer functioning. I have been using a website called partsouq.com/. It has well-detailed drawings and lists part codes for all the things on the drawings. Using those codes I have been able to track down almost all the parts I need.
Today I find that I can't enter the site without setting up an account (or something) so I can't get in to search a part number.

Anyone know of another source of part info? I am trying to install a pair of new antiroll bar links (already purchased) but as usual it is a swine to get the old ones off. The top end of the link is bolted to the strut but the nut I need to undo is blocked by a mickey mouse bracket that holds a cable. I think it is something to do with ABS or something. If I use a disc cutter to remove the old link end I will destroy the bracket and need to find a new one to secure the mystery cable.

These days it's difficult to get owt for nowt & most sites like this require some info from you.
I've just ordered a pollen filter for Mme's car's heating/cooling system from Auto doc & had to set up an a/c even though they had my email & home address on file but no password.
Why not simply set up an a/c & continue the obviously good relationship you've enjoyed?
They must already have your address & payment details if you've previously purchased from them.

I should have given more info.
This site seems to be a main source of parts for garages, etc. Their site posts all the factory parts drawings and parts codes for not just normal service items but every integral part from bodyshells to badges, seat trims, nuts, bolts, clips, everything. I haven't actually tried buying from them yet. I usually just start with the factory part number and do a Google search. The part often turns up on ebay somewhere in Europe, often new in the mfr's packaging.

So to directly answer your question....... I have not yet had any dealings with them trying to make a purchase. Out of desperation I began the process of registration in order to get access to the master catalogue. All normal stuff except they then wanted my PayPal info. I then began to smell a rat. I later discovered they are located in Dubai. Still wondering if it would be safe to give them the information. I have been unable to find any detailed sketch or part number for what I need.

Still wondering where people go to locate a Peugeot factory part number.
Or alternatively has anyone signed up for an account with Partsouk in Dubai?

I know that this probably isn't what you want to hear, but I go to my phone and ring a dealership. I have never failed to get a factory part number for one of my cars from any dealership I've contacted.

You speak the truth. But I can't do that. I don't speak French, and if I could, they would simply say they don't keep parts for a 20-year old car.

I need to see the drawing in the master catalogue to identify the part by sight. Most dealerships (apart from being bandits) only keep late model service maintenance parts in stock and for anything out of the ordinary they look in the master catalogue to get a (code) number. Older than a set number of years (maybe 10) the stock is sold on to a third party. Without the code I don't have a chance of locating it on the internet.

You could do with the Peugeot service box https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/5039608521

Many thanks, Paul.
I hope this includes what I am looking for. It claims to come with all kinds of stuff. If it includes the master parts list for the 307CC I will be delighted. I just have to wait until October when my friend comes over to deliver it. The seller won't send to France.
