Is it me or are there less worms around than there used to be, after all we used to build worm houses!

They are certainly less common in our gardens but not too surprising considering the huge numbers of Jackdaws, Starlings and Magpies SWMBO keeps feeding!!

In our weather forecast for tonight we could have some light rain showers. If so the soil may get wet and the worms might rehydrate and appear. This dry weather seems to have reduced the slug and snail numbers, not seen any for some time. Also the ants have not made much of an appearance in recent weeks.

SWMBO shops twice weekly and this is typical of her haul, + some milk and salad bits in the fridge.
