Delphi DCM6.2 and DCM7.1

Unread post by Genderen »

Hi,

I'm new here, I live in the Netherlands and I own a 2018 peugeot expert 2.0 blue hdi 180hp. I work as a mechanic on classic cars and yes als classic French cars :-)
My problem is that my engine has failed, it had an oilpump issue and this caused severe damage inside the engine. Now I have decided to install a new engine.
Found a 2023 engine with 100.000km. Also a 2.0 180hp blue hdi. Mechanically I'm sure it will fit. What I'm not sure of, is the electronics.
My Peugeot has a Delphi ecu DCM6.2. The new engine has a Delphin DCM7.1 Connectors do match. Does the engine run if I use my own DCM6.2 ecu?
Does anyone has the correct info about this?

Please advise,

Thanks,

Regards,

Patrick

The generally accepted practice is to keep engine and ECU together as a pair suggesting that the newer Engine may not be happy on your existing ECU, if it runs at all. I'd always go for swapping them as a pair. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Hi, thanks for your reply. Not sure if the vehicle itself will handle another ecu like the dcm7.1. Especially the automatic gearbox.

The old engine is an AHH, the new one is an AH01.
If the new engine works with the excisting dcm6.2 ecu. It would be great. I am still not sure.

Hopefully someone has more ecperience with this.

Thanks.
