Cruise Control turns off

I have a Citroen C5 X shine plus hybrid automatic.
Because of an operation I had I am unable to drive with just one foot moving from the accelerated to the break. So I am a 2 foot driver (that’s feet not height)
The problem I have is if I touch the break at all when driving (put on the accelerator that is of course as well) the automatic control system shut down and will not let me put the cruise control on. The only way I can put it on to stop the car, in order to reset the system turn it off and turn it on again in order to reset the system. Bearing in mind that one uses the cruise control usually when you're on a long drive on a motorway, stopping the car is perhaps best avoided.
So, HELP! Does anybody know how to reset the system without having to stop the car turn it off and restart the car. None of my previous hybrid cars have had this problem and that includes possibly the most unreliable car I have ever had which was a Land Rover discovery sport hybrid (new in 2023) it had many other problems which JLR couldn’t fix (and as a result refunded my money where upon I bought the Citroen C5 X) but the cruise control worked beautifully without turning itself off.

Cruise control should cancel if brake pedal is touched (i.e. no longer maintain the set speed) but it should be able to "reset" again back to same speed again no problem.

My C5 (2009, "X7" type) would sometimes get "upset" and refuse to enable cruise control. For me, an amount of clutch slip whilst cruise control was active would be the most common trigger. After this, cruise control set speed would flash. In that scenario, restarting the car allowed cruise control to be used again.

Obviously your C5X is a lot newer, but does the set speed flash or any other symptoms when it cruise control stops working?

Some of my cars also turned the cruise off if the clutch pedal was pressed, even slightly.
Accord and Civic but perhaps others too. I'll have to try it on the Mazda when I next see it.

I hired a C5X recently and I noticed it had far to many electrical functions imo. If yours is fitted with automatic braking it should brake on its own if in cruise control. In cruise control don't leave your foot resting on the accelerator, like people leaving their foot on the clutch, a clutch will wear out. But having both feet on both pedals will send wrong signals to the car and think it needs to emergency brake. In which case it'll prevent cruise control
