Can anyone recommend a suitable adhesive to stick the cover back on the outer rear light of my Peugeot 307cc, This seems to be a common problem, they appear to be heat welded at the factory but it wasn't very successful. I tried clear silicon adhesive sealer but it caused the lenses to crack and eventually crumbled and lens fell off again. I've seen various 2 part adhesives for plastic on ebay but not sure if any are suitable. This plastic seems to be very difficult to stick so if anyone can recommend something they've used successfully I would be very grateful.
Many Thanks Clyde.

When I rebuilt the tail light of my 308CC I used a silicone sealant sold at the DIY store for joining roof guttering, as it claimed UV protection.

Thanks, will try that. Silicon I used obviously wasn't uv stable.

There are adhesives made to weld plastic plumbing parts together. It's donkeys since I last used any though.
Here is one from Screwfix but doubtless there are others too. This may or may not work, depending on the type of plastic but may be worth considering if all else fails.
Perhaps try it on the failed one before risking it on a new lens.

Re: Peugeot 307cc rear light lenses (fallen off)
Last summer I restuck mine with an ordinary glue for plastic as used for model airplanes, etc. It works by slightly melting the plastic so it "welds" the two parts together. I don't remember the brand but it would seem to be the same type of thing mentioned by Myglaren above that is used on PVC plumbing connections.
Have you seen the price of NEW tail lights for the CC? Scandal!

Absolutely hate modern cars and being ripped off by garages that play parts roulette.

Have a look on the lights to see if it indicates the type of plastic, if so then search for a suitable glue. Hard plastics include abs, polystyrene, PET, acrylic, polycarbonate. Polycarbonate searches are the most interesting https://www.acmeplastics.com/content/wh ... e-plastic/
