Hello everyone.
Got a airbag / pretensioner fault that started intermittent (would trigger while driving, especially when turning in intersections.) but eventually turned to permanent.
Diagnostics gives the following:
DTC: P0690
Description: Fault on The LH Lateral and LH Curtain Airbag Igniters In Series. Resistance Too Low
State: High Stop
Read that the common fault is the connector but even after spraying the left seat connector with contact cleaner and eventually replacing the whole thing with new connectors the fault persists. Leaving the connector disconnected gave the same diagnostic code.
Any ideas where to check next? Didn't do any continuity tests on the cables inside the seat in fear of triggering the airbag.

Yes, you should never resistance check any wires connected to the airbags as there is a small risk of deploying them.
The side airbag in the seat & curtain airbag are wired in series as they always deploy at the same time, if there is a connection issue with either of them it will give you the same fault
