Strange wuh wuh wuh sound from engine - 1.6hdi

I've had my ds3 1.6hdi for nearly 3 years now and it's always had this noise but it's gradually got a bit louder. This isn't my video but it's this exact noise.

I've replaced the whole timing belt kit with a dayco replacement (water pump, tensioners, pulley, belt) and it's still there. Also has had a new aux belt and tensioner + crankshaft pulley. I'm at an absolute loss of what this noise is but it's such an annoying thing to listen to when you're stuck in traffic as it's so loud

Any ideas?

Our 308 1.5 hdi makes that noise and fearing the cam shaft chain wearing I took it to the dealers to be told it is normal. However, they do not do anything until it loses power or a fault code comes up.

I have heard alot of 1.6hdi like this aswell but also come across plenty that doesn't have the noise. As I said I replaced the cam belt and auxiliary belt last week and it still is happening. Don't think it's that. It's definitely on that side of the engine though

So little update, managed to take this video ( I know it moved around quick but you can replay) and you can hear everything very well. A/c compressor is fine, alternator and tesneioners aswell. Crankshaft pulley makes no noise either.

But

The noise seems to emanate from around the injector pump. Do we think that could be a possibility?

Have you looked at the water pump tensioner? Wasn't sure from your previous comments. Its around where the noise seems loudest on your video but I think you just miss it in your video....

If you've already figured it out... what was it?

I believe the sound I got from my last 1.6hdi 92bhp was similar.
The car ended up with very high emissions failing its MOT..hope that was unrelated to the sound

To me that sounds like a roller bearing that's failing. Belt tensioner, ac pump and alternator all obvious candidates.

It's essentially impossible to diagnose it with sertainty over the internet. Get the belt cover off and use the old-fashioned bit of stick and Mk1 ear to find it.

I'd probably try popping the aux belt off, run the engine and rule out a few things.

has anyone ever got to the bottom of the wur wur sound and poor emmisions? aux belt off, no. high pressure pump replaced, no.
8mm kit fitted, still the noise persists. Suffers low rail pressure at low revs, starts perfect.
