C5-->C4 Ah understood.

If they'd made a C4 estate, then definitely would be under consideration now.

I did like my MK1 C4 5 door (though wished it was the 2.0 HDi 6 speed not the 1.6 HDi to be honest!)

P.s. Do not recommend loading a little trailer like that! Not actually that heavy, but weight high up = horrendous swaying as soon as got up to 55-60 on the M61!! Stopped soon as we could and reloaded the shortest lengths inside the car. Trailer was thankfully nice and stable for the rest of the 120 mile trip.

Tried and failed to find a picture on an AX towing a trailer Jim!


Curious one: grey 308 SW, rear seats moving about (from four adults plus my 3 year old niece = child seat centre rear. Back to normal = two adults in front, outer two rear seats for my boys (4&7) and occasional short trip use in the centre rear adult seat)

Noticed that one 308 seat wasn't engaging properly with the floor. Curious the two rear "prongs with sprung rings" look quite different from one another:

The one with red ring visible is the side that not engaging with the floor.

Swapped with another seat for now, but will need to investigate.

Looks like the pins/studs in the red ring are holding the spring from full extension and thus possibly not enough travel for the stud to reach its latching point.

I can go one better Matt My original AX had a towbar fitted - I used to tow a little box-trailer with it

Looks like the pins/studs in the red ring are holding the spring from full extension and thus possibly not enough travel for the stud to reach its latching point.

From having a bit of a fiddle about with it: yep, the pins/studs (might actually be ball bearings?) are in their "fully extended" position currently. This equates to "locked into the floor" which obviously they aren't doing at the moment.

The level at back of the seat base should be the trigger to let these pins/balls retract, but isn't doing that.
With the pins able to retract, the sprung ring should slip over them. As far as I can make out main function if the ring is to hold those pins back, untill the ring is pushed down by the seat engaging with the floor (at which point pins pop out, whilst below the hole in the floor plate and hence seat is locked = there goes the theory!)

Lubrication is first port of call, it's all dry as a bone. But that'll be next weekend at the earliest I'd think
