Taken by my daughter yesterday at one of our local country parks... For me, a truly magical photo capturing a special moment.

We were watching a massive dragonfly flying across and at times, skimming the surface of the water.

The surface was covered in big water boatmen. I guess the dragonfly was feasting on those.

Several lakes in the park are infested with blue-green algae. Sadly, it's resulted in the postponment of a big triathlon event there this weekend.

The 2 nearest cars do not seem to have moved over the last few days. We have a 16 year old Honda Civic parked on our street and when not being used the owner puts a cover over it. This also hides the number plates so I do not know if this is against any rules but a search says it is and can be fined but if the plates are visible it is ok. If it was on a drive that should also be ok.

They are my Legacy and MX3 both of which have moved in the last few days. As I am not too well at the moment usage is considerably down but I do go out in the Legacy every couple of days and the MX3 gets a weekly maintenance run. The cover does go over the number plates but I have written the reg number on the cover for visibility purposes. As we live in a crescent with no through traffic it does not present an issue as I cannot keep it off road because SWMBO needs free access to the garage and we only have the single drive. Because of that it is now costing me £320+ a year to park it outside which is why it is on the market as we speak!!

I did not realise they were your cars, I should have looked closer and can see the Legacy has moved. In the last one the Legacy is a few inches closer to the MX3 so precision parking at its best. In our area street lights are turned off at midnight, helps if star gazing but not too sure about security.

I live on a narrow two lane (just) country road with no pavements .
The sparse spread of houses, such as they are, all have their own drives, with each house recently numbered in seperately named sections.
I mention this to explain that each section has a horizontal name plaque fixed to a post planted in the roadside ditches.
The plaques take a regular hammering from the agricultual 'engines' that pass daily & nobody, but nobody, leaves a vehicle parked in the road.
