I have also had that a few times and judging by the amount of double and triple posts it seems others have too.

It's happened a few times for me.
For a while I was beginning to doubt my own sanity.

"One whose sanity warrants doubting is not capable of doubting it!" Read that somewhere!!

Re: Test of forum posting speed
I made another temporary change to the server settings, a couple of hours ago.
Any instances of very slow posting?

Re: Test of forum posting speed
Very slow posting is normally just Jim being late to the topic. That took 11 seconds

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Re: Test of forum posting speed
Just made a short post took soo long to appear that I click submit again - then had a message "another use has made a post" (which was in fact my post!)
More weirdly I then went to "Your posts" - expected to see that thread top of the list = nope! Went then to "New posts" there it was, with last reply as being from me.
Sorry I didn't time it, will try and pay attention next time
(Edit to add 17 seconds for this to appear)

Re: Test of forum posting speed
There is some strange behaviour in the forum software at present, that I believe is caused by software version incompatibilities following recent server updates. I am having some difficulty identifying the exact issue, as downgrading of software versions can also be problematic.
I have identified one line of enquiry, which may be a shortcut to the solution (or may be another red herring). While pursuing this I have temporarily disabled the post bookmark feature. Your existing bookmarks are not lost and will become visible again when I have got to the bottom of the issue.

Re: Test of forum posting speed
I have downgraded the http server package to a previous stable version, and it has fixed at least one of the issues that I was chasing.

Thanks for the report.
15 seconds is not wonderful, but better than the worst that we have been seeing.
