Eolys tank comms - Citroen c3 1.6 hdi

Unread post by bobalobmitchell »

Hi all,

I have a Citroen c3 1.6hdi 2015 with P1435 and P1434 also U0118 (i will double check im typing these codes off the top of my head at the moment)

Its had a new Eolys tank last year, fitted by me and coded with Diagbox as the last one was empty and I reckon it burnt itself out. It had lost comms.

The new tank keeps bringing up errors every so often (every 2nd tank fill or so)

I found a wiring diagram posted by Givemeabreak, however it is quite low quality so I am struggling to make out the components and numbers.

If i supply the vin could someone kindly supply me with a sharper wiring diagram?

Also.. i have back probed the single Lin bus wire with my new scope and its all over the place, not a square wave like I believe it should be? I unplugged the single wire and it didnt change the wave. There was also a start stop wire but that didnt change the wave, although it doesnt have start stop? There are 2 earths that look terrible but i didnt have tools with me to clean them. What else on the lin bus could be the issue other than the tank? Im tempted to pull the white pump housing off and back probe the pins to make sure the connector is making good contact, as i remember a post on here where someone had issues with the connection. My topdon phoenix lite 3 seems capable of all diagbox actions so i have been using that instead. If i tell the car its had a new tank again it primes away fine and clears all codes.. until the 2nd refuel?

Sorry for the long winded post 😂

That sounds to me like a high resistance connection somewhere in the wiring. I'd go through all the connectors and check for corrosion from the fusebox to the pump abd tank. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The wires to the tank plug can rot and cause an intermittent connection often you can find a soft part of the wire where if has failed (normally the first inch or so from the tank. I think moisture travels up the cable from the connector). Also the connector pins can corrode. I have fixed a couple like this that had intermittent pump comms
