front door hinge adjust xsara picasso

Hi All!

The drivers door on my 2009 Xsara Picasso (Petrol 1.6 DOHC) is tilted down so the bottom of the door hits the sill under the lock. So the door 'drops' down a bit as it comes off the door stop. How do I adjust the hinge to tilt it up?

I need to get the top hinge to slide forward a bit.
To get a spanner on one of the hinge bolts it looks like you have to take the wing off, that surely isnt right?!

I can see the hinge also has a torx bolt I can loosen, but this seem to let the door move out away from / nearer the car, which I don't need.

Suggestions appreciated, video somewhere?

Can you post a picture of the hinge?

Is the hinge worn? Is there slop if you lift the rear of the door?
It could also be that some bracing behind the hinge is broken, if you lift the rear of the door with some force, does it feel springy? Compare with the other door.

A look in a Haynes manual for the Xsara Picasso says the hinge bolts are accessed by removing the wheel arch liner, so from the wheel arch. The wheel will likely need removing first.

zanxia_x6 - There's no door slop at all up down. Suggests hinges in wrong position.

PaulC5 - On this car (see photo) there is a sheet steel bracket along the back of the wing top down. No holes in it that would allow access to bolts from wheel arch (even with lining removed) - so manual maybe for the older Xsara (up to 2003)?

I I guess I could remove the hinge pins and take the whole door off (detach cable / door stop etc first).
Then mark hinge current positions, move the top one 'a bit' (haha) and put door back.

Might have to do that a few time to get it right ....
