Cooling water temperature

Unread post by Rolf R »

On my Xantia 2.0 -00, the temperature rises high. Less than a week ago, I got the thermostat and the plasic housing changed, as there was a leaking little crack in the house. The temperatur was then around 85 centigrades. All good and well.
But now the temperature is raising again. Up to 120 degrees at most. That is the last reading on the gauge. But I can´t find any leak this time and it is not possible to fill up more cooling water.
But this evening I found that with both main and dipped beams together with the fog lights the reading goes high. Highest when I also switch on the chair seatings. There is no doubt about this. When switching it off to just parking lights, the reading is only about 90 degrees. The reading follows the switches in a couple of seconds. Up and down.
Then I thought that I have a bad connection/earting or somewhat an tried to spray the sensor contacts and fuses with contact spray. But that did not help. Even the sensor is changed, but the result is still the same.
A strange thing is that the temperature reading is stable when the engine is stopped and only electric is swithed on with the starter key. No matter how much light I swith on. - Anyone have any ideas?
