Afternoon all. I’ve got an ongoing issue thats making me scratch my head. Fault codes:
P0014-00 exhaust camshaft dephaser: coherence
P0011-00 inlet camshaft dephaser: locking.
- Removed both solenoid valves cleaned them up and swapped them around. Faults stay the same.
- checked timing and replaced the wet belt. Fault stays the same.
- checked oil pump strainer. Cleaned thoroughly although there wasn’t much in it. Replaced oil and filter. Fault stays the same.
- replaced exhaust solenoid valve. Fault stays the same.
Replaced both dephasers. Fault stays the same
Reset the inlet and exhaust dephasers with the snap-on apollo-D9.
No engine light when idling. Or driving like it’s stolen, but as soon as you rev the engine 2/3 times at idle, or drive slowly, the faults come back up. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

As you have replaced the obvious candidates, have you checked the wiring loom plugs at the ECU?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Check the Solenoid Oil Feed Screens (In the Head)
You cleaned and replaced the solenoids themselves, but on these engines, there are often tiny, removable mesh oil screens pressed directly into the engine block/head oil galleries right behind where the solenoids sit.
The Issue: If the old wet belt degraded at all before you replaced it, microscopic rubber fibers or sludge could be clogging these hidden galleries.
Fix: Pull the solenoids back out and peer into the housing hole with a torch to see if there is a tiny mesh filter inside the port that needs cleaning out.

And more notes
Camshaft Position Sensors
Since you have an exhaust code (P0014) and an intake code (P0011) appearing at the exact same time, the computer might be getting bad data.
The Issue: If the sensors are old or coated in a film of oil grime, they can misread the speed at which the cams are moving during quick throttle changes.
Fix: Remove the two camshaft position sensors, clean their magnetic tips, or check their live data on your Snap-on tool to ensure they are reading smoothly during those 2–3 throttle blips.
