Hello Paul,
I would like to explain my situation in a little more detail.
My original internal 8 GB microSD card was failing. I managed to create a sector-by-sector image, but there were a few unreadable sectors during the recovery process.
I restored this image onto a new Kingston Industrial microSD card.
We carefully checked the image:
all three partitions are present,
the navigation files appear to be complete,
the image looks almost identical to the original SD card,
however, we cannot be certain that the unreadable sectors did not contain critical boot data.
Since replacing the SD card, the RT6 powers on, the screen is backlit but remains completely black (no Peugeot logo), and the CD drive keeps trying to read the firmware disc for several minutes before ejecting it.
Do you think that a few missing sectors on the original SD card could be enough to prevent the RT6 from booting completely?
If so, would it be possible to obtain a known-good RT6/RNEG2 SD card image for comparison, or would you recommend another recovery method?
I also have the official RT6 firmware 2.86 CD (part number 9691894880), and I will try the USB installation as you recommended.
I am happy to perform any additional tests you may suggest.
Thank you very much for your time and expertise.
J'ai juste ajouté une phrase à la fin :
"I am happy to perform any additional tests you may suggest."
(Je suis prêt à effectuer tous les tests supplémentaires que vous pourriez me conseiller.)

Re: [RT6 RNEG2] Request for software / firmware
It's not really possible to find a car that's exactly the same as one's own. The next step would be to try updating from a USB stick. If you're using a computer to copy from the CD then you have to copy the contents of the CD to the stick, not the ISO image of the CD.
A thought that occurs to me is that the SD card might interrupt the booting process with being partially cloned already. If that occurs then my next step would be to use a partition manager to clear the card and then format it with Fat 32.

Re: [RT6 RNEG2] Request for software / firmware
Hello Paul,
Thank you very much for your advice.
I will prepare a USB stick correctly by copying the extracted contents of the firmware CD (not the ISO file) and test it as you suggested.
I also understand your point about the SD card. If the USB update still does not start, I will completely erase the replacement SD card, repartition and format it to FAT32 before trying again.
Thank you again for taking the time to help me.
Best regards,
Kevin

Re: [RT6 RNEG2] Request for software / firmware
Hi, I've finally got my rt6 out of bootloop and working, running 2.86b. However, the parking sensors are not working. Apparently I should be looking in datexplorer for blocks 1.1 or 1.2 in the user config dat file, but my blocks start at 1.3. Apparantly I need the base rt6_286 config file rather than the rt6_2xx config file in datexplorer, but I can't find 286

Sorry, I can't help with this except to day that I would have thought Mirascript could activate this option.

Re: [RT6 RNEG2] Request for software / firmware
Hi Paul,
I have some new test results since my last post.
I prepared a new 16 GB PNY SD card using the official SD Card Formatter (Overwrite Format) and left it blank, as previously suggested. I then inserted it into the RT6 and booted with the extracted 2.86 firmware on a FAT32 USB stick.
Unfortunately, the behaviour is unchanged.
The RT6 powers up, accesses the USB stick, then powers off. The USB stick loses power, I hear the CD mechanism initialise, the RT6 powers up again, the USB stick is read again, and this cycle repeats continuously (more than six times). There is still no Peugeot logo and no firmware update screen.
The same behaviour occurred with my cloned SD card.
Do you have any further suggestions on what to check next? Could this indicate a bootloader or hardware issue rather than the SD card itself?
Thank you again for your help

I think it's a hardware issue as you probably suspected. There are companies that can repair these units and there have been posts here about them. I will try to find them, tomorrow now I'm afraid.
