The radio receives permanent power from Fuse F8 in the BSI, which goes to pin D12 of the black 8pin connector on the back of the radio.
The radio receives switched power from Fuse F9 in the BSI, which goes to pin D15 of the black 8pin connector on the back of the radio.
Item 7215 is the central display. It has permanent power and is completely controlled from the CAN BUS.
Item 8415 is an optional CD stacker.

Hi Guys

Sorry for the wait wasn't able to get to work on the car until today but I have good news I now have a working horn. in the end it was rust on one of the terminals on the horn which I fixed and oxidised connectors on the drivers airbag. even though it wasn't what you guys where suggesting in the end I just want to say thank you for all the help from everyone it helped isolate down the issue to what it was. the radio still doesn't work but I need to get the removal keys before I can get the radio out and see what is wrong. I also know that aftermarket options aren't the best for this car I was debating getting a head unit with apple car play and android auto but just wanted to know if the date needed to be set would I be able to change it with the new head unit?. anyway one last thank you to everyone that has helped get this sorted should fly through its MOT this Friday.

The radio has the date/time in it and sends that to the central display via the CAN BUS. So I doubt a new head unit would be able to do that.
Some good news is, because it's an all-CAN system it is compatible with any CAN BUS radio, which is most of them now! For the most part that means that the remote controls on the control stalks will work.
Who knows? You might find a radio that re-transmits the time over the CAN BUS?
