Air vents not working

Hi everyone. Owned my 2009 citroen grand picasso for 8 years and I've hit my first biggish problem. The blower works fine all speeds but it will only blow on the screen. I direct it towards me or the floor but nothing happens. When I start up the car I can hear things in the dash and about 30 seconds later the fan comes on but on the screen only. In this hot weather I want it blowing on my face nof over my head. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Can you confirm which engine and gearbox you have?

The flaps that direct the air can not be moving, could be the flaps are seized, motors not working or something else. At worst it might need the heater unit removing and replacing.

Hi. It's a 1.6hdi manual. For the first time the vents worked today.

Possibly the hot weather has something to do with it.
