RT6 (eMyWay) bootloop and firmware recovery (2013 Citroën C4 Grand Picasso)

Unread post by Sitikas »

Hi everyone,
I am reaching out to the forum for some guidance regarding a dead RT6 (eMyWay) infotainment unit.
My 2013 Citroën C4 Grand Picasso (MK1, 1.6 e-HDi) is currently experiencing the classic bootloop symptoms: a black screen, no sound, and the CD drive cycling every 10–20 seconds.
The original internal MicroSD card has failed. I tried cloning it to a new 8GB Class 10 card, but the bootloop persists—likely due to corrupted partition files on the original card. When plugged into a PC, the original MicroSD card shows a maximum capacity of only 151KB.
I took the car to a local diagnostic technician who scanned it via OBD, and the diagnostic tool showed that the radio unit was completely missing/not responding. However, given the state of the MicroSD card, I am convinced the unit is failing to initialize on the CAN bus simply because it cannot boot past the corrupted card.
My system originally ran on firmware 2.21. As I understand, I cannot directly flash the widely available 2.86 firmware onto a freshly formatted card because the system expects the original 2.21 partition structure first.
I have two questions and would be incredibly grateful for any advice:
Does anyone happen to have, or know where I could find, a working link to a full image/files for RT6 firmware version 2.21 to prepare a fresh MicroSD card from scratch?
If I successfully perform a clean install, will the RT6 automatically sync and read my car's VIN from the BSI, or will I need to manually telecode it using MiraScripts or Diagbox to eliminate the anti-theft beeping?
Thank you so much for your time and for any help you can share!

I am sorry to say that this problem is outside my knowledge sphere. However there are members who will know about this and hopefully one of them will see your post and offer some guidance. Good luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
