All good guesses,

Just departed now, 13:27. Poor thing doesn't even get the good fortune of a lift, instead dragged along behind.

View of the driver was it's 100% a right off, he was surprised I'd had any communications suggesting anything else.

A bit of "light" relief from the fate of the blue car, in the form of 300kg of gravel (plus unloading device) picked up and soon to be deposited

Having spent the week on the relatively cool coast, I watched in fascination as the temperature steadily climbed whilst travelling inland during my journey home...

Further to the blackout subject I have just received a new set for the bedroom window. I need a blind that is 2400 x 1100 mm so not easy to find however I found this on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197109280298 and it has just arrived. The pics tell the initial story but I am impressed for the price, even comes with a safety knife!! :-D

Is it black on both sides Mick? Can't help think it'll keep light out but radiate loads of heat into the room if so!

Currently at a Soft Play place with the boys. Some semblance of air conditioning but it's very hot in here. 20 minutes to go then will drag two very sweaty boys back home!

No silver one side which they say face out with, as a reflector. :-D

Happy to report the new blind is in place, the cutter they supplied was superb, just a matter of running it along your measuement lines and Uncle Robert arrives!! Then on with the velcro pads around the frame and on with the blind. Instantaneous loss of heat through the window so well pleased for £11 or so. :-D

Ta. I was expecting it to look silver and strongly reflect the sunlight. I keep thinking of using the silvered mylar sheet in my south facing windows but that would preclude leaving them open all day.
Sometimes have to shut them all when neighbours have washing out, due to the pong.
Had the kitchen door open yesterday and a bloody pigeon flew in, crashed about all over knocking things over and leaving feathers all over the place before I managed to shoo it out.
Had my wife been here she would have had a heart attack, she hated birds, cats and dogs and would never have the doors open in case a cat got in. A bird would be ten times worse.

Just been up to make the bed and the room was a healthy 22, far better than the 29-33 of the last few days!! We keep all doors and windows closed all the time that the o/s temp on my sensor is equal to or higher than our indoor temperature. Open windows and doors just let warm air in, makes no sense to me!! :-D

The interior temperature here is almost invariably higher the outside. We have approx 20°C here today (inside and outside).

I thought that freshly done washing was supposed to smell nice!

We don’t need doors open. We have a chimney that we have been trying to get someone to put a bird-proof metal netting in. The previous owner of the house used the fireplace in winter but we don’t. We get tradies come and tell us that they can do the job. They might even say something about being here on such a day. They never show up.

Because we don’t use the fireplace, we have things in front of it, like a bookcase. Every time a bird comes down the chimney, it is a major operation to move the bookcase to open the fireplace so that we can let the bird out. They’re not smart enough to go back up where they came from. 🙄
Cheers,
Andrew
