XUD engine code DHX who knows these 1.9TD engines?

Unread post by Orchid70 »

Hi

I have got this Peugeot Expert 1.9TD VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
It was imported from Bulgaria to Sweden 16 years ago and since only driven 30 000 km.
It has run as crap long and havent been driven long.
I wonder if the cylinder head have been changed. Are the injector correct for this cylinder head?

It was taken to MOT and didnt pass because number one injector had a leak (in between the body parts).
I took it out. In that cylinder the heat shield was positioned correct and was loose.
I took also out the rest of the injectors.
There was only two more heat shields and both was turned up side down. As far I could see.
All the heat shields are crushed flat!
I ordered new injector heads and gave them all to a friend to refurbish (clean, we dont have shims or other internals to change) and pressure test them. He said that the number one injector should not have leaked from inside.
Well, I put all back together with new copper washers and heat shields and the engine run even worse at idle. Sounded like air leak.
I wonder if the injectors are correct for this engine or did I do something wrong.

Second question is - what is the correct torque? I took out an other injector and the heat shield was totally crushed flat. Its like the injectors are too long for the cylinder head.

Tried to take pictures of the old heat shields. The one on the left is the number one.
One of the copper washers (I do think it came out of the cylinder that didnt have heat shield) have signs of compression loss.

Does someone know what injector is correct for this cylinder head? The head has 7-8 threads. The injectors have 4.

I called Peugeot and they gave me this OEM number for the injector: 1980-H0 - but that number is almost impossible to find info on. What that injector actually looks like. There are several different types.

Also - what would be the correct tightening torque for the correct injectors? 40 -70 - 90 nm?

This is all the service history there is and most likely been done since 2015:

I can't offer any assistance I'm afraid other than making this post which will bring your thread back into the new posts list and hence may catch someone's eye who missed it at first. Good luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I would appreciate also if someone knows a forum, where the knowledge could exist.

So it seems that this van has the earlier engine in it.

And that means the nozzles I ordered after talking to Peugeot - are wrong.

And the nozzles installed in the van "originally" (when it came here) were the same, wrong ones.

I have ordered yet an other set of four nozzles - and we will see.....

VIN number says this engine should have 3 of 1980-H0 (nozzle 1984-95) and one one with needle lift sensor 1980-G9

But instead engine has four: 1980-G6 (nozzle 1984-60)

I have had quite a bit of experience with XUD engines but I don't know what the reference numbers mean. Soe of the later engines had partial electronic control, recognised by a wire connect the the r/h injector. If it not one of those its a bit simpler.

How exactly is it running? low power, noisy erratic. Does it have a CAV or Bosch pump? Does it run hot, does it start normally. A bit more info and I may be able to help.
