Yep, I think the average taxi driver driving competence is going down.

I'm not sure how the "Venn diagram" would look but to my eyes the specific "hybrid driving taxi driver" is generally the worst. Number of Prius, Corolla Hybrid, Kia e-whatever it is SUV thing, those are often driven poorly.

I had to look it up, seemingly a Toyota Esquire is what hit me. Hybrid. (Essentially if you imagine a Prius and a Proace had a particularly ugly baby)

The one that hit Matts car im wondering if he's qualified to drive one let alone understand the roundabout rules.
No comment, or at least, nowt repeatable!

I live in a 'Y'-shaped cul-de-sac and there is loads of room in the 'Y' to turn around. Most drive in and reverse out, some do it the right way, but there are so many incompetents, one last night, a taxi driver no less, spent several minutes doing a thirty-point turn instead of using the 'Y' that was right beside them. Held up the traffic for ages so the road was blocked making it even more difficult for them to get out.

Attention Mick, in the interests of "Practice what you preach":

Operation: keep the heat out, version 1 is GO!

Take 1 car windscreen cover,
Wedge it in the bedroom window instead!

You’re very fortunate. In Sydney, they seem to drive worse when they have a paying passenger. Most, not all, taxi drivers outside of Sydney or Melbourne, and probably Canberra, are fairly good.

And Uber drivers are shocking all the time.

I know you were using a figure of speech, but it got me thinking.

How do you count the number of points you make doing a turn?

My way to count the points in a turn would mean that any even number of points would result in the car going backwards, and in the same direction as they originally were going.

A very pointless exercise!

I'd agree with you, a change in direction is a "point" but...

... Now you're getting to grips with taxi driver (lack of) logic! :rofl2:

Obviously! Just reverse down the road a bit, then another 30 point turn, and you've got to your intended "go the other way" outcome! It's simplicity itself! :-D

Oh wait, now they will need to reverse out onto the main road!
