Problem with Citroen Dispatch 2.0 HDI

Hi guys,

I would like to get some opinions about what i am dealing with at the moment before I take my van to the garage.

For a while I could smell burning oil now and then but ai couldn't find a source.

Today I open a bonnet and noticed that rubber cover on the top back end of the engine is in pieces, it does look like its melted.

Sny idea what could cause that ?

The engine looks quite oily. Perhaps some oil reaches the exhaust manifold occasionally and burns off? A risky situation.

Possibly an injector seal is leaking where it goes into the cylinder head. Are there any unusual noises ?

Yeah, especially on idle.
