C4 Picasso recirculation mode - air flow route?

Unread post by CitROeNALD »

I was curious, does recirculation mode in the C4 Grand Picasso MK2 bypass the cabin pollen filter?

It seems that some cars do and some do not. So I was wondering if anyone with access to technical drawings or understanding of the air flow pathways knew what the case was with the MK2 C4.

Unfortunately I only have diagrams for cars up to 2012. Good luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Depends on where the cabin filter is located, if under the scuttle then recirculated air will not go through the filter, only fresh air from the outside. Searches suggest it is located on your car in the driver's footwell so probably just in front of the heating/cooling so recirculated air will have to go through the filter.

Thank you. I found out today that my main dealer services had not been checking or replacing the filter, despite me checking with them that they did.

It was in a state.....mouldy even.

So replacing it myself from now on.

I use recirculating a lot, so I was wondering how much the filter had been in use. Thankfully after getting a camera into the space, the compartment for it is not actually too dirty.

I highly recommend getting a flexible hose for cleaning it out, it worked really well.
