12v power source in boot of 2014 C4 hatch

Unread post by snake14 »

I recently acquired a 2014 C4 Seduction (hatch). I'm trying to locate a clean 12v power supply that I can tap into in the boot. I tried the reverse lamp and the BSI complains after a few minutes with the car running. I found an unused harness below where higher trim models have a 12v accessory socket but none of the 6 pins seem to be live. Any insights or recommendations would be appreciated.

It may be that as you do not have the kit those wires were for, there may be an empty fuse position. Check in your handbook for fuses and maybe identify a spare one. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Yeah. The manual says F14 is for the rear 12v accessory socket and the fuse is in position. There is a black MDC harness taped up out of the way near the glove compartment fuse box. Anyone know if that supplies the harness in the boot? I don't see anywhere on the fuse box for it to connect. Does at least one of those conductors go to the back harness if I were to power it? Is there a better 12v source that I can tap into in the boot that won't trip up the BSI?

If it helps, here's a picture of the harness that I found in the boot below where some models have the optional equipment:

It could be for a towbar. Have a look in the handbook to see which fuse would be for a towbar and see if putting one in gives a 12 volt supply at the back.
