Hi everyone! me and my uncle are bringing a 1995 xantia back to his old glory but with some upgrades... he bought the car in 1997 when it had just 10000km... used and abused of the car, for 6 years the car was left in storage due to the spheres losing the charge and some return line leakeges... as i grew interest in the car and learned to turn some wrenches i talked to him about we bring the beauty back to reliable and working conditions hheheheh. Basically we got carried away and we are doing a little more than that...
Originally the car came with no AC... but we found a almost new 1996 totalled xantia and bought the hole AC system including:
-Compressor
-lines and hoses
-fan box and module
-switch panel
-control panel
-difuser panel with the sensor
-radiator and ac radiator
-fan shroud with module
-filter and pressure switch
-And a whole new interior...(but this doesnt matter on the AC heheeh)
I am going to buy the fan control module tomorrow... the bitron one... and what i am in need of some help is to find some wiring diagrams...
i already found the fan control module wiring diagram... so the only wiring diagram i need next is the ECU wiring diagram for me to find:
-AC request
-AC grant
my xantia have the xu10j2c
Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...

Re: Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...
You have a challenging project there.
Does the AC system that you are fitting have manual temperature control (3 cables to the control panel) or automatic temperature control (2 cables to the control panel)? The wiring diagrams are different.
You did not mention the parts required for mounting the AC compressor on the engine. I believe that the hydraulic pump and alternator are relocated and the compressor is mounted on the sump. So you (may)also require:
* A cast allow sump
* Bracket and spacers for mounting the compressor to the sump
* Different mounting bracket for the hydraulic pump
* Different hydraulic lines to fit the relocated pump
* Different alternator brackets (maybe a more powerful alternator)
* A different auxiliary belt tensioner.

The system i got has automatic temperature control....
I forgot to mention about the mounting to the engine, but i got everything....
got the block mount... got the tensioner.... the lines i am making new ones by hand using AN fittings and compression conections to hardlines...
all i worry about is the wiring, even thought about developing a fan control module myself... but what i really need is those ECU ports to connect AC signals correctly.

compression connections to hardlines...
Not normally a good method with such high pressures and steel lines...there is a good reason Citroen used ---steel pipe/bubble flair with tail/rubber seals for these pipes.

Re: Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...
You may be aware that there were evolutions in the design of the AC system during series 1 Xantia production. A 1995 car would have had the first type, a 1996 car could have had the first or second type, for your project you need to get the wiring to the ECU correct. The wiring diagrams for both versions are shown below. Note that these are the RHD diagrams, but LHD would be very similar.

Re: Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...
Here in Brasil, xantia parts are really hard to come by... especially wiring harnesses... almost every xantia that gets hit is considered totalled by the insurance companys because of the dificulty on getting parts, when these cars are disassambled they always cut the wiring to make their work easier. So i have 2 options from now on... witch is:
Wait for another 96 xantia to be disassambled or for me to make a hole new engine bay AC and fans wiring harness from scratch...
I believe both options are doable. i will make my own drawings of the wiring harness and how it should be to start....
Thank you so much for the help!! i will ask a lot more questions in the future about documentation of this wirings and everything
The right pinout for the ECU is based on the model of it? if its a Magneti Marelli IAW 8P.20 or a Bosch Motronic MP 5.2?

Re: Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...
The change in the AC wiring depends on the build date of the car, but I don't have access for LHD vehicles. Your AC ECU may have a manufacturing date on it.

Re: Installing Ac on a non Ac xantia...
My AC ECU was made in 23/03/1996. But my concern is more about the engine ECU, i didnt find the diagram that describes the wires that does:
1. The Input Path: A/C Request Signal:Dashboard Switch->Evaporator Assembly->IC02 Connector->A/C Pressure Switch ->Engine ECU.
2. The Output Path: A/C Grant / Cut-out Signal:Engine ECU->Bitron Module / Cut-out Relay Coil ->(Relay closes)->Compressor Clutch.

I think that this is what you are looking for, the engine ECU wiring for 1995 model year XU10J2 with Marelli ECU.
