Hi Folks. Exec 2.0. Hdi. 140 hp.
Drives fine most of the time but every now and again if you drop below 1500 rpm it won't accelerate if you put you foot down hard - gently and it will. If you are going to slowly it 'shunts' until you release the throttle, too slowly and it will stop but the engine doesn't just goes to tickover. It starts first time and accelerates well in 1st, but if you come up to a corner at around 15 mph. it slows but soon as you give it some light throttle it pulls fine. I have changed the fuel filter and I can't see any bubbles in the fuel line.
The other problem is the suspension, if I drive over a rough section of road - our farm track for instance, it suddenly starts to go very hard, it's done it a couple of times now, sometimes it goes to the full high setting or it could go to the lowest setting, if you try to alter it there is no response from the height controls and no height adjust control illumination. A BSI reset cured it last time but haven't tried it this time because it only happened happened coming home tonight.
I fixed the not being able to remove the centre sphere problem, I fitted a couple of Mk1 front spheres, there are only 4 spheres on the Mk1 so the two front ones do all the work, not as soft as I would like but certainly better than it was.

Maybe you should try a throttle calibration procedure Peter? This thread about similar problems resulted in a camshaft position sensor being the cause, worth a read through maybe? viewtopic.php?p=656848#p656848
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Had the same fault recently on a mates Ford Kuga, It was a bad fuel pressure sensor. Worked great until you floored it then it just stopped. Restarted straight away and ok if driven gently
Good luck peter

Re: More weird goings on with my C5 Exec
Thanks for that Mick I will investigate. You may remember we had problems with the crankshaft sensor on one of the others, I still have one or two somewhere! When were were messing about with that I tried disconnecting the camshaft sensor and it didn't seem to make a lot of difference but I will try. I still don't have a working Lexia, that might tell me what was wrong
I think the suspension mode problem must be a duff connection somewhere - but finding it.!
Steve.
That had occurred to me but I hope not as its on the bottom of the pump which is almost impossible to get at. I thought it might have been the pump on the other one, but I changed it and it made no difference - some job.

When my fuel rail pressure sensor went bad on a 2008 1.6hdi I also had to have the BSI board changed. Total cost was less than £250.

Re: More weird goings on with my C5 Exec
One of my first X7s went berserk about a year after we had it, the radio packed up, then the satnav and the parking sensors. I followed the circuit diagram supplied by Marc and found all these supplies came via the BSI, I didn't know then that I could replace it. So I fitted and aftermarket radio and satnav and had to manage without the rest. This was some time ago but the car is still going now, my son has been using it. I have two cars here for scrap so I could have changed it over then. Don't have the energy now.

I should have mentioned, the BSI board was a swap over / spare, if you have a Citroen specialist it may be they hold on to them

Not too many Citroen specialists about down here, not many C5s either. When I asked my MOT man how many other C5 customers he has, the answer was zero. I think I have the monopoly in Dorset. I have five estates, only three running though.
