NFU tensioner 5706H1
Hi all, cryptic heading perhaps. Mine’s a Peugeot 307 2003 with a broken belt tensioner. Nfu engine 1.6 dohc 109 hp. I have made a replacement which functions without the original properties. I understand the tensioner, called 5706H1, is very uncommon. Neither breakers nor spare parts dealers have this particular type, but rather the automatic type. I wonder if anyone could advise me if another tensioner would be directly fitting or if I’m stuck with this original type, which is almost impossible to locate and, from those few who do sell it, it’s ridiculously pricey without including the actual tensioner mechanism, which is also lost. Thanks, Göran

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The tensioner mostly resides on the alternator mounting bracket.
The bracket on my 2003 Citroen C3 with a 1.4 TU3JP KFV engine has the same tensioner as yours. However, it could also take the "auto" adjuster too.
If your bracket cant take the auto adjuster you could replace the bracket for one that can, and get the auto adjuster.
I am sure the 1.4 and 1.6 alternator brackets are the same.
