A bird has come down the chimney. Or Santa has arrived 193 days early and you do not want him in the lounge.

Correct Paul, we have a fledgling Jackdaw sitting on the shelf just above the chimney throat, I can't reach it so we have to wait for it to decide to head for the light and then hopefully follow the tunnel to freedom. Not sure if it is a flyer yet so further help may be needed once we can reach it!! :-D

Just to tidy up the story of our misguided Jackdaw, sadly he/she didn't last the night and we found it upside down in the hearth this morning!! Darren, our sweep, arrived around 10.15 and by 12.30 he had cleared yesterdays mess, swept the chimney properly, in his opinion possibly the first time it had ever been done!!, and then installed bird caps on the top to avoid future troubles. I have never known a worker be so clean and tidy and we were gobsmacked when he told us the price was £60 for the sweep and £110 for the roof work. So now it looks like this again: :-D

RIP Jackdaw :( That's an absolute top-quality chimney sweep you have there. Very reasonable costs and above all, leaving all spotlessly clean.

She's playing on a fully functional mechanical toy digger in a giant sandpit. It has a fully functional bucket that actually digs into and scoops up the sand. It also rotates so you can do proper excavations! Huge fun :D

The sandpit has several of them and in my opinion, after tall, steep tube slides, they're among the best playpark toys ever :D
