Forum update 11/06/2026
I have applied a software maintenance and security update to the forum this morning.
I also purged user sessions, which means that all users were logged out.
As usual, let me know if you encounter any problems.

I was still logged in when I came on here following the link in my notification email for your post Mike!!

Perhaps your browser automatically logged you in?

Re: Forum update 11/06/2026
Could be I suppose but there are times when I follow an email link and find I am not logged in. It is obvious to me because I have all topics displayed with the newest on top so I never have to scroll down to view the new post. Thus I am always on page 1 when I join a thread when logged in. If logged out the newest post is at the bottom of the highest page number in the thread!!

Not checked my laptop yet but I also have not had to log in again on my phone.

I was logged out anyway so nothing unusual there but still unable to log in with the usual link with Firefox but the other one, going through the home page, worked but too several minutes.
Brave and Chromium worked as they should.

Re: Forum update 11/06/2026
All good here at the minute. Initial opening of the index page very slow but OK after that in all browsers. Haven't tried the phone as I rarely use it and wouldn't see a difference.
May all change as the street is full of Openreach vans, yet again.

Re: Forum update 11/06/2026
The slow opening of the first page is probably due to the operation of Cloudflare checking whether you are a person of good reputation.
In fact I now think that the failed logins may have been a quirk of Cloudflare, fixed by flushing the Cloudflare cache.
