I have have updated a site setting which should fix this problem.
For the past 25 years the default value has been sufficient, but apparently it became fussier after the last forum software update.
Please reply if you are still seeing the "invalid form" issue.

Maybe clear cookies again?

Re: submitted form was invalid
No change yet.
I did try logging in on the phone (Android), used Google search to find the forum and logged in without any problems. I don't have a browser on the phone as I very rarely use it, too fiddly.

Re: submitted form was invalid
It's all very odd. I reported via email to admins a while back but will follow up here. Since then it persisted on Chrome/Win 11 but was fine on Edge/Win 11 and on my phone where I normally use Chrome. Then it failed on Chrome/Android but was fine on Edge/Android.
Today still not working on Chrome/Win 11 but having read the posts above I tried Chrome/Win 11 using google search rather than the shortcut I have pinned in Chrome - it worked fine. But the shortcut version still failed.
Then I pinned the new shortcut and looked at them both. Both - the non working and the working - show the same url: https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/
If I stay logged in both shortcuts work. If I log out only the 'new' one lets me back in again.
So I wonder, has something corrupted the shortcut that I have saved - maybe its not an FCF problem but something that's happened to users machines or google accounts cross platform? It must be driving the admins mad, wish I could help but I don't have the in depth knowledge.

Re: submitted form was invalid
That is interesting. I don't know how apparently identical shortcuts behave differently, especially as this problem is reported with multiple different browsers.
I haven't been able to find anything at this end, and there don't seem to be any credible reports of similar problems on other forums running the same software version.
One thing that I have been holding off is a complete reset of all user sessions, which would cause all users to be logged out. It should be harmless, but it is also possible that it will cause this problem to affect more users.

Fair point, I'm pretty certain the chrome on android failed after the phone was powered off and on again (for other reasons) thus closing everything. Maybe if its just a few users and they have workarounds its best to leave it as it is.
I've kept both shortcuts and have tried again and find that the behaviours I described above repeats itself. I've kept the old one just for now for diagnositic purposes. I remember some latin from the 60's but don't "speak HTML". I've been looking at "inspect" on both shortcuts to see if there are any obvious differences but nothing leaps out at me.
The fix might be for anyone with the problem to log out, delete their bookmark/shortcut/history, search for french car forum, open that then save that as a new bookmark/shortcut. Maybe someone who isn't me can try that to see if they get the same results as I do.
If I find any new information I'll post it here.
